Comparing Gamban?
A gambling block,
and someone who knows.
Gamban is a dedicated gambling blocker, built to be hard to take off once it's on. Sworn blocks gambling too, across every app, and adds the one thing a blocker on its own doesn't: if you try to reach a betting site, or switch the filter off, one person you chose hears about it.
Free malware and ad/tracker blocking, always. Other categories and partner alerts: 7-day free trial, then $7/month.
The real difference
A lock, or a person.
-
01
Gamban locks.
Gamban blocks gambling sites and apps on your devices, and by its own description makes itself “as difficult to remove as possible.” It won't help you uninstall before your subscription ends. Its site lists no way to tell another person anything; it's built for you and your devices.
-
02
Sworn tells.
Sworn blocks gambling across every app on your phone and computer, with no VPN. You choose one person you trust. If you try to reach a betting site, they get a short email saying it happened and what kind of site it was, never the site itself. If the filter is switched off or goes quiet, they're told that too. A determined person can remove Sworn. The difference is that they won't be alone when they do.
Neither is “better” for everyone. If what you need is a block you can't undo on a bad night, Gamban is built for exactly that. If what's been missing is someone in your corner who knows, that's what Sworn is for.

Getting started
Set up in about three minutes.
- Install Sworn and switch on Gambling. Malware blocking is on by default; ad/tracker blocking is free too. Gambling and the other categories come with a 7-day free trial, then $7/month.
- Turn on the filter. Sworn walks you through one Settings screen. No VPN, so banking, Maps and everything else keep working.
- Add the person you trust. They confirm by email before they receive anything. After that they only ever see that a blocked attempt happened and the category, never a URL and never your history.
The newer kinds of betting are covered too: see how to block prediction markets and sweepstakes casinos.
