Comparing BlockSite?
Don’t hold
the only key.
BlockSite is a flexible blocker with a PIN only you hold — which means the one person who can lift it is you, at exactly the moment that’s hardest. Sworn filters by category system-wide and, if you want, quietly loops in someone who’s there when the line moves.
Free malware and ad/tracker blocking, always, with no ads in the app. Other categories and partner alerts: 7-day free trial, then $7/month.
The real difference
Holding the key alone, or someone alongside.
-
01
BlockSite: you hold the key.
You build the block list and protect it with a password or PIN. That makes it flexible and fast to adjust. But it also means the person who can lift the block whenever the urge hits is you, in the moment it’s hardest to. It’s a tool you carry on your own.
-
02
Sworn: someone’s in your corner.
Sworn filters by category across every app, and you can invite a partner who’s quietly in on it. If you turn the filter off or it goes silent, they get a heads-up. If you slip, they get just a count,
3 blocked attempts in the last 24 hours
, never the URL and never your history.
Neither is “better” for everyone. BlockSite is a great, flexible self-blocker with modes and lists you fully control. When being the only one with the key is the problem, Sworn adds an accountability partner and an honest, ad-free free tier.

Moving over
Add Sworn in about three minutes.
- Install Sworn and pick what to block. Malware blocking is on by default; ad/tracker blocking is free too, one toggle away. Add pornography, gambling, social media, shopping, gaming, or VPN/proxy blocking with a 7-day free trial, then $7/month.
- Turn on the one setting. On iPhone, Sworn asks iOS to add its DNS setting (one Allow tap), then walks you to the one Settings screen where you pick it. On Android, Sworn gives you an address to paste into Android’s Private DNS setting and opens that screen for you. No VPN, no management profile, no browser extension. Banking and Maps keep working; blocked sites just stop loading everywhere.
- (Optional) Add a partner. They get an invite to confirm, and at most one reminder. After that they only ever see a count of blocked attempts and the category, never a URL and never your history. They’re emailed if you turn the filter off or it goes silent.
- Keep or remove BlockSite. Your call. Sworn runs alongside anything. Leave BlockSite’s focus modes in place if you like them, or retire it once Sworn’s covering you.
